STUDENT AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN TRIO Programs (Student Support Services and Talent Search)
POSITION: TRIO Office Manager
Description Of Duties
- Assist in the scheduling of appointments, arranging meetings and managing the shared calendars for both TRIO grants offices.
- Receive incoming telephone calls, take messages, and meet/greet callers, visitors, faculty, staff, and students.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of events.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
- Maintain office and supply inventories to ensure the effective and efficient daily operations of both TRIO grants offices.
- Assist in processing purchase requests and recordkeeping of all purchases and receipts.
- Type memorandums, letters, reports, and other business correspondence.
- Collect information and gather data for surveys and projects.
- Maintain the TRIO Student Support Services and TRIO Talent Search database and student records.
- Provide information and assistance to students about both TRIO grants services, requirements, and regulations.
- Maintain regular correspondence with participants, including managing TRIO grants’ social media pages.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- May assist in the training and supervision of hourly and/or work study employees.
- Work under general supervision.
- Receive training and guidelines from the Director of TRIO Programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of office, clerical, or customer service experience.
- Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Accurate proofreading and editing skills.
- Proficiency with computer and MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Moderate lifting up to 20 lbs. and moderate carrying up to 20 lbs. required.
- Ability to reach above shoulder.
- Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
- Experience working in an academic institution.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Blumen software.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to effectively multitask.
- Experience working with underrepresented populations.
