Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with Supervision, Tech Support, Maintenance, and other associates.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Set up and make basic adjustments to trimming equipment as needed.
• Monitor equipment for proper operation and report mechanical issues, jams, or other concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Check label and carton quality.
• Minimize material waste while maintaining required quality standards.

Description

A qualified Trimmer Operator will be able to perform the following tasks:

• Operate and monitor industrial trimming equipment to ensure books are produced according to specifications and quality standards.
• Measure books and inspect finished products for quality issues, proper dimensions, and accurate trimming.
• Review job tickets, production specifications, and instructions before and during production.
• Keep accurate production records and ensure products meet established quality standards.
• Maintain safety and OSHA standards as well as a clean and professional work area.
• Communicate effectively with Supervision, Tech Support, Maintenance, and other associates.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Capacity to understand printing jobs, work orders, and production instructions.
• Set up and make basic adjustments to trimming equipment as needed.
• Monitor equipment for proper operation and report mechanical issues, jams, or other concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Check label and carton quality.
• Minimize material waste while maintaining required quality standards.

Requirements

The Trimmer Operator should meet the following requirements:

• Qualified candidates will be able to work 8, 10, or 12 hours and work weekends as needed.
• Previous experience as a Trimmer Operator is preferred.
• Experience operating Muller Martini Merit, Zenith, and/or Orbit trimmers is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a printing, bindery, book manufacturing, or finishing environment is preferred.
• Experience with comparable industrial trimming or bindery equipment will also be considered.
• Safety and quality minded.
• Should be able to work with minimal supervision and be an individual contributor.
• Must be reliable and consistently at work and on time.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Must have positive and effective communication with other team members.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to lift and move production materials as required.
