Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Cypress, TX is seeking a dedicated Climbing Arborist to join our outdoors-focused team. You will prune and remove trees, install supports, and ensure safety for clients while working with a crew of skilled professionals.

Responsibilities include climbing using approved systems, operating equipment, and coordinating with ground crews. This permanent full-time position offers robust benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights (preferred).
• Must complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Licenses/certifications related to pesticides (preferred).

Job Duties

What You’ll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
