Job summary

IMMI seeks a detail-oriented Trim Engineer to design, develop, and implement soft trim components for seating and occupant safety systems. You will collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers to ensure safety, quality, cost, and manufacturability across the development lifecycle.

The role covers design validation, CASO process support, post-launch quality reviews, and BOM management, with travel as needed to support suppliers and production sites.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in soft trim and foam development, including cut-and-sew component design and foam skiving

Responsibilities

• Design and production implementation of soft trim components per specs and regulatory standards
• Develop and release trim cover drawings and patterns using cut-and-sew construction techniques
• Maintain sewing specifications and appearance standards for trim parts and assemblies
• Develop and manage BOMs for prototypes and production; identify tooling and compliance needs
• Prepare and manage comprehensive project plans with timelines and deliverables
• Provide initial cost analysis and quoting support for soft trim components
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to optimize sewing processes and layouts
• Coordinate with suppliers to evaluate materials, tooling readiness, and construction methods
• Maintain documentation for DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, PPAP and quality records
• Support continuous improvement and lead inventory management of trim development materials
