Job summary

Adient US LLC seeks a Senior Trim Engineering Manager in Plymouth, MI to lead trim design and engineering for a seating business unit. You will provide technical leadership to trim engineers and technicians, manage budgets, and ensure cost, quality, and schedule targets are met.

Responsibilities include leading product development, design reviews, DFMEA reviews, pattern design, and coaching 2D pattern design tools (Optitex, Lectra). Travel required as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering plus 10–15 years in trim product development.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory trim product development role.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead trim product development for a seating business unit.
• Lead trim design reviews and open issues meetings.
• Ensure trim best practices and processes are applied.
• Review DFMEAs and ensure high risk items are mitigated.
• Design trim patterns aligned with interface templates and guidelines.
• Coach 2D pattern design using Optitex and Lectra.
• Provide data-driven engineering solutions using BEP.
• Develop trim design solutions meeting quality, cost and craftsmanship goals.
• Support seat build events and manufacturing feasibility.
• Manage trim budget and resource planning.
• Coordinate with global teams for program execution.
