Job summary

Performance Seats, Inc. seeks a Trim Engineer to lead design, development, and implementation of soft trim programs. You will collaborate with OEM studios, manage trim BOMs, and support pattern development and sewing processes to meet design themes and specifications.

The role requires strong leadership, cross-functional communication, and hands-on experience with patterning tools and quality systems. Travel may be required; interview may include a sew test onsite.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Trim Engineering, Materials Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 6 years trim engineering experience preferred.
• Knowledge and practical application of automotive cut & sew construction techniques, materials and lamination selection.
• Familiar with ISO/TS16949 quality & ISO 14000 requirements and procedures.
• Travel as needed; must perform a sew test onsite during onsite interview.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement trim programs and engineering specifications.
• Create and maintain trim DFMEA, DVP&R and APQP/PAP documents.
• Develop BOMs (prototype & production) and determine tooling requirements.
• Release trim cover drawings and pattern development; supervise sew quality and appearance guidelines.
• Support manufacturing engineers in sewing processes and layout.
• Engage in continuous learning to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
