Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a skilled engineer for automotive soft interior trim development. You will drive surface definition, material selection, and production-ready implementations, collaborating with design, CMF, vehicle engineering, and supplier partners.

Strong DFMEA/DVPR experience and CATIA proficiency are required. The role focuses on wrapped panels, soft IP, armrests, and textile liners, delivering premium tactile quality from concept to SOP.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in automotive soft interior trim engineering (wrapped panels, soft IP, door armrests, textile liners, etc.)
• Strong understanding of soft trim material systems, manufacturing processes (slush molding, vacuum forming, sewing, lamination)
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent CAD tools for surface definition
• Experience supporting vehicle/product launches with supplier readiness and pre-production builds

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality soft interior trim components delivering luxury feel and durability
• Lead or support engineering, packaging, release, and launch of soft trim parts
• Translate CMF/design intent into production-feasible soft trim constructions
• Define material construction specs and oversee feasible, robust designs
• Manage DFMEA, DVPR, and quality documentation through milestones
• Collaborate cross-functionally with CMF, design, vehicle engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
