Job summary

The Ketchikan Indian Community (KIC) is seeking a Tribal Services Navigator to act as a liaison between KIC citizens and local service providers, helping individuals and families at risk of homelessness to secure housing stability.

You will recruit community partners, provide advocacy, enter client information in 1TRIBE, and coordinate with agencies, shelters, food banks, and health services while maintaining confidentiality and respecting AI/AN cultural practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in or with community and non-profit organizations and engaging in community outreach.
• Experience working with individuals in need of services and their families with cross-cultural sensitivity.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and client-centered services.

Responsibilities

• Recruit community groups to join a local support network.
• Follow up with engaged individuals to ensure connection with services.
• Enter client information into 1TRIBE and advocate for clients to access appointments and care.
• Promote and present at shelters, food banks, and community centers.
• Coordinate with KIC departments to provide timely services.
• Educate the public about programs and opportunities at community events.
