Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) seeks an ICWA Family Advocate to develop and provide culturally sensitive social services and case management for Alaska Native children and families across Akhiok, Larsen Bay, Old Harbor and Ouzinkie.

You will act as liaison between DHSS OCS, Tribal Councils, and other agencies to ensure ICWA compliance, support foster care decisions, and coordinate services, including travel to villages and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (or combination of education and experience).
• Experience in social services or child welfare is preferred.
• Ability to work with Alaska Native communities and culturally sensitive approaches.

Responsabilités

• Acts as liaison between state and tribal agencies to ensure ICWA compliance.
• Advocates for the Alaska Native community and for foster care reunification plans.
• Assesses and prioritizes ICWA cases requiring social services and support.
