Job summary

Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes is seeking a Community Navigator to act as a liaison between residents and the Tribe, enhancing knowledge of services and coordinating requests for technical assistance.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and the ability to collaborate across departments. Non-exempt, pay grade 8-9, with opportunities for engagement in community programs and outreach within Alaska.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Two (2) years’ related experience.
• Must be 21 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Substitution for Degree: High School diploma and four (4) years’ related experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between community residents and Tlingit & Haida to enhance knowledge of services.
• Direct requests for technical assistance and resources.
• Facilitate communication to appropriate departments and personnel.
• Build relationships with service providers and understand available services.
• Maintain open communication with community leaders and volunteers.
• Create systems to check in with leaders and providers for accurate information and follow-up.
• Collaborate with other Liaisons, Navigators and Field Managers on regional services.
• Connect with staff traveling to the community to address issues and requests.
• Promote educational opportunities and potential careers through Tlingit & Haida.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
