Job summary

Baker Tilly is hiring for a Manager to support Tribal government clients with ongoing accounting services and grants management. You will deliver monthly closings, grant reporting, and financial reporting to stakeholders.

You will prepare client deliverables, develop policies, and collaborate across teams to improve processes and support audit readiness. Some travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not-for-profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting incl. account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and client-service commitment.
• Ability to understand problems, think critically and propose creative solutions.
• Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple projects under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients; ensures timely client deliverables.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to understand current practices and identify process improvements; helps update policies and procedures.
• Starts projects by following work plans, adhering to schedules, and attending kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during audits to assist preparation for audits.
• Contributes to growing the practice and expanding client services.
• Reviews the work of self and team for accuracy; participates as an integral member of the Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences.
