Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska seeks a Financial Specialist in Norfolk to support the Child Support Enforcement program within the Finance Department. You will maintain accounting records, prepare financial statistics and reports for federal offices, monitor the program budget, and assist with audits and compliance.

Required qualifications include an Associate Degree in Business Administration or Accounting, proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or Accounting plus 1 year of work experience in finance or a business office.
  • Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with 4 years of government budgeting experience preferred.
  • Notary qualification in the State of Nebraska preferred and ability to become bondable/insurable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain manual and/or automated accounting records to track child support payments and disbursements.
  • Prepare financial information and narratives for monthly, quarterly, and annual federal reports.
  • Prepare and monitor the PTN CSE budget and related reports for Tribal Finance.
  • Assist with quality assurance reviews and corrective actions on financial issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Tribal, Federal, and State policies.
