Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Family Coordinator to implement the Strengthening Families program within the Human Services division, under the Child Welfare Supervisor. This exempt role supports tribal and cultural heritage while promoting healthy family lifestyles.

The position requires coordinating grant objectives, training staff, coordinating activities across sites, and occasional evenings and weekends with extensive travel in the service area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or education related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Two years of program development, implementation, training, and evaluation.
• Two years of experience in educational facilitation from curriculum design through session instruction.
• Two years of experience working with children and families within the child welfare system.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote Tribal and cultural heritage while supporting the mission, vision, and strategic goals and objectives of the Human Services program.
• Leads and coordinates the grant related project goals and objectives within the allowable timeline.
• Compiles a record of activities, procedures, and resource materials to ensure progression toward specified program objectives to complete and submit grant reports.
• Identify and implement evidence-based family programming models with knowledge of family engagement and positive family interaction program to increase positive, healthy family lifestyles.
• Maintain project data current in accordance with program area to ensure validity and proper reporting.
• Onboard assigned staff to ensure development and completion satisfaction of knowledge, skills, and abilities pertinent to job duties.
• Develop and facilitate presentations to participants while also preparing and distributing training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids.
• Coordinate monthly calendars for program activities in all sites while also identifying activities throughout the year that accomplish objectives of the grant.
• Provide opportunities for families to interact with other Native American youth and families.
• Provide referrals to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska (PTN) programs and coordinate case management activities with PTN case management staff as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.
