Job summary

Puyallup Tribe is seeking a CPS Investigator in Tacoma, WA to conduct investigations into abuse/neglect of Indian Children within PTCS jurisdiction. You will initiate life-changing decisions based on the best interests of the children and collaborate with caseworkers, families, and agency partners.

The role demands strong documentation, court readiness, and adherence to the Child and Family Protection Code timeframes, with after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of CPS investigations or direct social service experience required.
• Experience interviewing children and families preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word; Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct CPS investigations and develop initial case plans with families.
• Take reports, perform thorough investigations, and determine nature of allegations.
• Prepare affidavits and evidence for court; attend court proceedings as required.
• Maintain case records, coordinate with DCYF and outside agencies as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adapt to changes in child welfare systems.
