Job summary

The Oregon Department of Justice seeks a Legal Support Services Supervisor 1 to lead a team of legal support staff in the Trial Division, supporting Criminal and Collateral Remedies, Special Litigation Unit, and Federal Oversight Unit. Salem or Portland office. Strong leadership and organizational skills required.

You’ll oversee workflow, set performance expectations, and ensure high-quality service delivery, mentoring staff and improving processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field can substitute for the experience.
• Preference may be given to those with two years of experience as a high-level legal support professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of legal support staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and addressing performance issues.
• Assess training needs and provide tools for growth within the Trial Division.
• Oversee daily administrative, clerical, and paraprofessional work supporting attorneys across sections.
