Job summary

New York Cancer And Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Telephonic Triage team in Bohemia, NY. You will perform telephonic symptom assessments, triage care levels using evidence-based protocols, and educate patients on symptoms and treatment side effects.

Ideal candidates hold a New York State RN license, have strong assessment, communication and organizational skills, and are comfortable with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN License.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform telephonic symptom assessment for patients.
• Utilize triage protocols to determine level of care and urgency.
• Educate patients on symptom management and treatment side effects.
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and policies.
• Provide excellent customer service in high-volume calls.
• Identify barriers to treatment adherence and support continuity.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by management.

Deliver patient education regarding symptom management, treatment side effects, medicationguidance and support. Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and ancillary staff as needed. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, utilizing appropriate focused assessmentdocumentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, HIPPA regulations, and practicepolicies. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and efficiency inhigh-volume call environments. Support continuity of care by proactively identifying patient needs and potential barriers to treatmentadherence.
