Job summary

New York Health, part of New York Cancer And Blood Specialists (NYCBS) in Bohemia, NY, seeks a Triage Registered Nurse (RN) in OBGYN. This on-site role is 5 days a week, 7:30am-6:30pm, focusing on urgent assessment, patient education, and care coordination.

You will work with physicians, APPs, and staff, adhere to HIPAA and clinical protocols, and deliver compassionate service in a fast-paced environment. Valid NY RN license and OBGYN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN License.
• OBGYN experience preferred.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching; able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to determine appropriate level of care and urgency while providing clinical decision-making within scope of practice.
• Deliver patient education regarding symptom management, treatment side effects, medication guidance and support.
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and ancillary staff as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, utilizing appropriate focused assessment documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, HIPPA regulations, and practice policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and efficiency in high-volume call environments.
• Support continuity of care by proactively identifying patient needs and potential barriers to treatment adherence.
• Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management team, consistent with organizational needs and departmental objectives.

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri 7:30a-6:30p

We require:

Salary starting at $48 per hour
