The position supports the care team, works with the Office Manager, and ensures timely documentation in the EHR while adhering to HIPAA and clinic policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of Medical Assistant experience; 1–2 years of telephone triage experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• CPR certification.
• Second language preferred.
• Committed to serving underserved populations.
• Immunizations per SHHC clinic policy.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients by phone or portal, directing to ER, urgent care, or providers.
• Provide health education and home health advice.
• Maintain accurate notes in the EHR.
• Arrange appointments and coordinate with providers/nurses.
• Answer calls from clinics and ensure clinician notification.
• Coordinate prescription refills with clinicians and document in EHR.
• Order and document vaccines and labs as directed in EHR.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
