Job summary

The City of Anaheim Community Services Department is seeking a Senior Program Specialist for the TreePower Program. This part-time, year-round role (~30 hours/week) may require some evenings and Saturdays.

Bilingual-English/Spanish speaking is highly desirable and beneficial for community engagement. Ideal candidate will have arboriculture/landscape knowledge, strong customer service, independence, and effective communication to support tree deliveries, audits, and public interactions about

Qualifications

• Two years journey level experience related to a recreational program and supervision.
• Knowledge of horticulture, arboriculture or landscape design.
• Experience working with the public.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases to generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Plan deliveries, coordinate trees, and monitor inventory.
• Schedule appointments and instruct residents on tree care.
• Meet residents at properties to assess site and select trees.
• Organize tagging, moving, watering, delivering and planting trees.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional conduct.
• Handle inquiries, log requests, and enter site audit data.
• Prepare letters, reports, routes and mailing lists.
• Enter data and maintain detailed records.
• Represent the City to patrons and the public regarding TreePower and recreation operations.
• Support community awareness campaigns and fundraising coordination.
• Recruit, train, supervise staff and volunteers.
• Supervise and evaluate programs; track hours, logs, and finances.
• Order supplies and assist with event staffing and publicity materials.
• Provide program information by phone, mail, or email; respond to requests and issues.
• Coordinate special events and transportation programs as needed.
• Develop and distribute publicity; liaise with committees and external partners.
• Assist with instructor orientations and payments; prepare reports.
