Job summary

Truetimber Arborists is seeking an experienced Crew Leader to oversee a General Tree Work crew in the field. This hands-on leadership role requires climbing, rigging, and directing daily tasks while ensuring safety and high-quality workmanship.

You will manage equipment like chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and cranes, and maintain strong client communication, safety compliance, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a leadership role within tree care.
• Hands-on tree climbing, rigging, pruning, removal, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of tree biology, pruning, equipment use, and safety.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL Class B preferred.
• ISA certifications or similar are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a tree care crew to ensure productivity and safety.
• Plan daily tasks, allocate resources, and delegate responsibilities.
• Operate and manage equipment including chainsaws, lifts, and cranes.
• Climb and perform tree work to support production and deadlines.
• Hold on-site safety meetings and enforce OSHA policies.
• Maintain site cleanliness and equipment/vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate with clients and crew to ensure satisfaction.
• Complete paperwork and site assessments accurately and timely.
