Overview
LSI is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious *Tree Climber* to join our team. This role involves working outdoors in various environments to maintain and improve tree health and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tree care, climbing techniques, and landscape maintenance, with a passion for horticulture and environmental stewardship. As a Tree Climber, you will perform essential tasks related to tree removal, pruning, and maintenance using specialized equipment and rigging techniques, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Duties
- Climb trees using appropriate safety equipment, rigging and climbing techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal operations.
- Utilize arborist rigging techniques to safely lower large branches or entire trees during removal or pruning projects.
- Conduct tree removal, trimming, and pruning with precision to promote healthy growth and safety.
- Apply knowledge of tree care practices, including disease management and growth promotion.
- Use chainsaws and other hand tools following strict safety protocols to ensure efficient work processes.
- Assist with land clearing, landscape maintenance, and lawn care as needed.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols while working at heights or around heavy equipment.
- Maintain equipment such as bucket trucks, rigging gear, and hand tools in good condition.
- Document work performed and communicate it effectively with team members regarding project status.
Experience
- Prior outdoor work experience in arboriculture, landscaping, or horticulture preferred.
- Knowledge of GIS mapping or land surveying is a plus for site planning purposes.
- Experience operating bucket trucks or aerial lifts is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with arborist rigging techniques, tree removal methods, and plant pruning care is essential.
- Proficiency with chainsaws, limb loaders, or other tree care equipment is required.
- Understanding of safety protocol adherence when working at heights or with heavy machinery.
- Growing experience in horticulture or dendrology enhances the ability to assess tree health effectively.
- Background in landscape maintenance or lawn care is beneficial for supporting comprehensive site management.
