Job summary

Wright Outdoor Solutions seeks a full-time Tree Care Technician to assist in all aspects of tree culture for clients in the Des Moines area. Load and unload materials, operate trucks and equipment, and maintain clear work areas.

Applicants should have a valid Iowa license or ability to obtain one, and be prepared to work outdoors in all weather. CPR/First-Aid certification is preferred or obtainable, with commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa driver’s license is required or able to obtain one.
• Experience operating equipment is preferred.
• Ability to push, pull, lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
• Must read, write, and speak English to perform duties and communicate with staff.
• Willing to obtain First-Aid and CPR certification if not currently held.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris or feed brush into a woodchipper.
• Relay hand-signals, direct traffic, drive and operate trucks and equipment as assigned, keep trucks and work area clear.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
• Work flexible hours in all weather conditions to accommodate seasonality.
• Perform maintenance and care of trees including pruning, trimming, transplanting, and felling as required.
