Job summary

The Town of Wellesley is seeking a Foreman A/Tree Care to supervise daily operations for the urban forest, open spaces, and rights-of-way. You will lead crews of two to four workers and ensure work meets all Town, state, federal, and industry standards.

This role requires four years of arboricultural experience and two years in supervision (or a relevant college degree with work experience). A CDL with air brake, licenses, and arborist credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional arboricultural experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience or a college degree in agriculture/forestry with related work experience.
• MA Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Hoisting Engineer’s License Class 1C and 2B.
• Pesticide Applicator’s License Category #36 Tree and Ornamentals.
• MCA or ISA Certified Arborist credential.
• CPR Certification.
• Electric Hazards Awareness Program Training.
• Knowledge of tree and shrub identification, pruning, and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-line supervision and oversight of daily operation and maintenance programs for the Town’s urban forest, open spaces, and rights-of-way.
• Manage crews of two to four workers in tree maintenance and ensure compliance with Town, state, federal and industry standards.
• Oversee outdoor work in all weather conditions and participate in snow and ice operations, stand-by, emergency, and weekend duties as needed.
