Job summary

Jobtailor in Illinois seeks a Treatment Unit Administrator within the Department of Juvenile Justice to lead a team of clinicians delivering mental health services to youth in custody.

You will plan, organize, and assure quality treatment, supervise staff and interns, and coordinate with the Clinical Services team on needs, while serving as Crisis Team Leader during emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in clinical psychology, clinical social work, or clinical professional counseling.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
  • Prefers at least three years of working experience as a licensed psychologist, clinical social worker, or professional counselor.
  • Prefers at least three years of experience with children or adolescents in residential treatment or custody settings.
  • Prefers at least one year of supervising staff in psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Prefers at least three years of experience using DSM for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prefers at least one year of experience implementing Trauma Informed Care.
  • Prefers at least one year of experience with Excel or equivalent programs.
  • Prefers at least one year of experience with an EMR or youth record database system.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, executes, and provides quality assurance for treatment services.
  • Supervises mental health staff, interns, and contractual employees, and collaborates with staff to direct treatment for youth in custody.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Consults with administrative team and Clinical Services Supervision on treatment needs.
  • Serves as Crisis Team Leader to respond to emergencies and take on facility admin duties as needed.
  • Oversees interns and field placements from training programs and supervises delivery of therapeutic services to youth.
  • Receives clinical oversight from the Chief of Mental Health Services.
  • Serves on institutional and divisional planning and program committees.
  • Serves as Duty Administrative Officer.
  • Performs other duties within the scope listed above.

  • This position plans, organizes, executes, and provides quality assurance for treatment services.
  • The Treatment Unit Administrator supervises mental health staff, interns, and contractual employees, and collaborates with staff to direct treatment for the youth in custody.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Consults with administrative team and Clinical Services Supervision on treatment needs.
  • Serves as Crisis Team Leader to respond to and assume, as necessary, certain facility administrative responsibilities during crisis situations.
  • Oversees interns and field placements from training programs and supervises delivery of therapeutic services to assigned youth.
  • Receives clinical oversight from the Chief of Mental Health Services.
  • Serves on institutional and divisional planning and program committees.
  • Serves as Duty Administrative Officer.
  • Performs other duties and required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
  • Requires a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in clinical psychology, clinical social work, or clinical professional counseling.
  • Requires licensure as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of working experience as a licensed psychologist, clinical social worker, or professional counselor.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience working with children or adolescents in a residential setting treatment or custody setting.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience supervising staff in psychology, social work, counseling, and/or a related setting.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience utilizing the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to diagnose and treat individuals with mental health disorders.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of experience implementing Trauma Informed Care.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of experience with Microsoft Excel and/or equivalent computer program.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of experience with an electronic medical record or youth record database system.
Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in clinical supervision, mental health treatment planning, and crisis management within a juvenile justice context. Proficient in utilizing the DSM for diagnosis and implementing Trauma Informed Care while leading a team of mental health professionals.
