Job summary

Virsono Hearing Centers is seeking an Audiology Technician/Medical Assistant to support audiology services and patient care at our Princeton, NJ clinic. You will assist with hearing tests, fittings, and tele-audiology operations while maintaining EMR documentation and high infection-control standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a fast-paced medical setting, must be authorized to work in the U.S., and are willing to pursue an AuD Tech distance program.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification recommended or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a fast-paced medical clinic or audiology practice.
  • EMR proficiency required.
  • Willingness to enroll in an AuD Tech distance program.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional service and support both in-person and over the phone.
  • Assist audiologists with pure-tone and speech audiometry, tympanometry, and other basic hearing screenings under supervision.
  • Support hearing aid fittings, cleanings, minor repairs, and troubleshooting for patients.
  • Take detailed patient histories and prepare patients for audiological exams and treatment.
  • Collaborate with remote Treatment Coordinator and Treatment Specialist to facilitate Tele-Health appointments, including setup of tele-audiology equipment.
  • Champion infection control protocols and proper cleaning/calibration of audiological equipment.
  • Prepare insightful reports and participate in team meetings and daily huddles.

Position Summary:
As the Audiology Technician/Medical Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our operations, reporting to the Regional Clinic Manager and collaborating closely with our licensed audiologists. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless flow of our clinic — from performing basic hearing screenings and assisting with hearing aid checks, to using our state-of-the-art EMR system, overseeing audiological tests, and assisting in tele-audiology functions. Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional service and support both in-person and over the phone.

Education and Experience:

  • Medical Assistant certification recommended or equivalent; Certified Audiology Assistant a plus
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a fast-paced medical clinic, audiology practice, or similar setting
  • Experience assisting with hearing tests, hearing aid fittings, or audiometric equipment strongly preferred
  • EMR proficiency required
  • Willingness to enroll in an AuD Tech distance program
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and infection control standards
  • Available Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, on-site; able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; background check required
