The Salvation Army Midtown Services and Treatment Center in Missouri is seeking a full-time Treatment Support Specialist. You will monitor all activities within Detox, Residential, and Outpatient programs, performing duties of an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

This 40-hour per week role includes requirements such as a high school diploma, one year of experience, and timely certifications.

Qualificações

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of work experience.
• Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor certification is preferred or required within 60 days.
• CPR certification is required at time of hire or soon after.

Job Description

The Salvation Army Midtown Services and Treatment Center is looking for a full-time Treatment Support Specialist. This individual will monitor all activities associated with the Substance Abuse Program including Detox, Residential, and Outpatient Treatment Programs. This position will also perform the duties of an Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and related duties to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy therapeutic environment, assisting clients with achieving their therapeutic goals.

This is a 40 hour per week position with a starting wage of $15.00 per hour. The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center.

EssentialFunctions

• Conduct client evaluation interviews, assess type of treatment required, develop treatment plan; include screenings and intakes when admitted into treatment.
• Perform clients’ breathalyzer and urinalysis.
• Orient clients upon admission into the program.
• Conduct financial screenings and accept clients according to the program policy guidelines.
• Answer phones and conduct screening and place on waitlist or refer to Intake Coordinator.
• Counsel detox clients about treatment options in the program; refer to other agencies, as needed.
• Refer eligible clients to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in consultation with ACS/Counselor.
• Conduct group counseling activities; Residential or Outpatient Treatment Services per ACS.
• Lead group education sessions for Residential, Outpatient, and Family Support per ACS.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent and one-year work experience. Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimal supervision. Must think independently and demonstrate sound judgment. Must be supportive of The Salvation Army’s mission and policies. The position requires a high level of confidentiality. Good communication skills as well as the ability to work with diverse and challenging personalities are essential.

Required at time of hire:

Family Safety Care Registry Check.

Required within 60 days of employment:

Hepatitis A vaccine documentation required by the City of St. Louis Health Department. Annual TB test. Current CPR certificate. Serv-Safe Certification. Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor Certification (for all daytime staff performing groups).

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Occasionally lifts 20 pounds and sometimes up to 40 pounds. Most work will be indoors in a temperature control environment.
