Job summary

The Salvation Army Midtown Services and Treatment Center in St. Louis, MO is seeking a full-time Treatment Support Specialist to monitor detox, residential, and outpatient programs and to support clients toward their therapeutic goals.

You will conduct evaluations, manage intakes, supervise group sessions, perform screenings, and refer eligible clients to MAT in collaboration with ACS/Counselor, while upholding confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of work experience.
• Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimal supervision.
• Must think independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
• Must be supportive of The Salvation Army’s mission and policies.
• High level of confidentiality.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client evaluations; assess treatment type; develop plans; include screenings and intakes.
• Perform clients’ breathalyzer and urinalysis.
• Orient clients upon admission into the program.
• Conduct financial screenings and accept clients according to policy.
• Answer phones and conduct screening and place on waitlist or refer to Intake Coordinator.
• Counsel detox clients about treatment options; refer to other agencies as needed.
• Refer eligible clients to MAT in consultation with ACS/Counselor.
• Conduct group counseling activities; Residential or Outpatient Treatment Services per ACS.
• Lead group education sessions for Residential, Outpatient, and Family Support per ACS.
