Responsible for working with special needs clients, as well as conducting intakes, family intakes, entering data collection information, and facilitating orientation and life skills sessions to residents. Assist Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors with some clerical-orientated duties.

Scope Of Duties
  • Administer orientation documentation to the client as needed.
  • Schedule all medical appointments for identified clients.
  • Assist Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors by entering core curriculum, treatment schedule, and tombstone data collection into the excel data capture system.
  • Act as a liaison to Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors, schedule and facilitate case management meetings (non-clinical) with clients as required.
  • Identify and/or develop resources and link clients to needed services.
  • Assist Case Managers and/or Substance Abuse Counselors in filing funding source documentation in resident files, and maintaining files to funding source standards.
  • Participate in required internal/external Treatment Team meetings.
  • Fulfill obligations of training agreements entered into for core curriculum programs.
  • Demonstrate competency in program related certifications.
  • Complete all required reports and other documentation.
  • Provide support to program assistant function.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with all clients, staff and community members.
  • Document fees and/or deposits received from residents.
  • Attend court hearings and/or parole hearings as subpoenaed or assigned.
  • Conduct drug and alcohol screens as directed or needed and report results to Director or Manager.
  • Must work with clients in securing child support payment schedule with court systems and assisting clients modify court orders when applicable.
  • Must obtain Risk/Needs Assessment Training and Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Must obtain training in at least one core curriculum within 180 days of hire and certification in that core curriculum within 12 months of training.
  • Interact (verbally and non-verbally) with clients, staff, and community members professionally with respect and courtesy.
  • Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with one year experience with Volunteers of America or one year experience in a Human Services related field. Transferable experience is preferred.

Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to interact appropriately with clientele. Basic computer skills are preferred. Must possess valid driver's license and be able to meet agency driver standards.
