Job summary

Fifth Third Bank, N.A. in Detroit is seeking an Associate Payments Strategist to partner with Treasury Management Officers, Commercial Bankers and Relationship Managers to grow and retain a portfolio of commercial clients.

You will analyze cash flow, develop tailored treasury solutions, and support sales activities while ensuring a high-quality client experience. You will participate in client meetings, prepare proposals, and coordinate onboarding and implementation to deliver seamless service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Treasury Management, Commercial Banking or Payments
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated ability to support sales efforts and manage client relationships
• Working knowledge of treasury management products and solutions
• Strong communication, organization and client-facing skills

Responsibilities

• Partner with Treasury Management Officers, Commercial Bankers, Relationship Managers, and internal stakeholders to support client coverage and relationship strategies.
• Serve as day-to-day client contact for assigned relationships, building trusted relationships, maintaining engagement and ensuring responsive follow-up.
• Participate in client and prospect meetings to understand business objectives, cash flow processes, and opportunities to deepen relationships.
• Identify, structure, and support treasury management solutions across payments, receivables, fraud prevention, liquidity, and digital channels.
• Prepare treasury reviews, pricing analyses, proposals, presentations, RFP responses, and other materials that support client recommendations and sales activities.
• Conduct portfolio reviews and monitor client activity to uncover revenue growth, retention, expansion, optimization, and risk-related opportunities.
• Support pipeline development, opportunity tracking, CRM accuracy, deal documentation and progression toward close.
• Coordinate onboarding, implementation, service, product, and follow-up activities to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Ensure adherence to risk, compliance, documentation, and bank standards; elevate issues and drive timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain strong knowledge of treasury management products, sales processes, industry trends, client industries, and financial workflows.
• Assist in achieving team sales, retention, revenue growth, and client satisfaction objectives.
• Other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities to support the team and company’s mission.
