Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Product Owner to own the product vision and roadmap, aligning with strategic goals. You will prioritize the backlog, write user stories, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value to customers.

You will communicate with stakeholders, analyze outcomes, and use agile practices to guide delivery while ensuring risk and regulatory standards are followed. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience, or a combined equivalent.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, including writing user stories or functional requirements.
• Experience supporting backlog management, testing, or defect resolution in a product or technology environment.
• Exposure to financial services operations, accounting, or transaction processing workflows.
• Ability to work across business, operations, and technology teams to support delivery and issue resolution.
• Experience supporting systems used for trade processing, settlement, reconciliation, or financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the product vision and roadmap aligned with strategic intent; communicate to team and stakeholders.
• Represent voice of the customer within the team; convey story details and decisions to move delivery forward.
• Write user stories and groom backlog; specify acceptance criteria for ATDD.
• Collaborate with delivery team to create information radiators and transparent status updates.
• Participate in all team ceremonies and agile rituals; maintain backlog health.
• Engage with partners across organization; advocate for customer benefits and outcomes.
