Job summary

Heritage Auctions in the Dallas area is seeking a Treasury Accounting Specialist to support daily cash reporting, disbursements, and month-end close. You will assist treasury operations and provide financial reporting under the Senior Manager of Credit, Collections, and Accounts Receivable.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in accounting or finance and strong Excel skills; experience with GP is highly preferred. Onsite position with benefits including health coverage, 401k, paid time off.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred; associates degree preferred.
• 5+ years in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable with a HS diploma will be considered.
• Experience in a company with 500+ employees and multiple business units preferred.
• Experience in intercompany booking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report daily cash position for Heritage entities accurately and timely.
• Support treasury functions and month-end close and related reporting.
• Prepare daily cash statements and process wire transfers in USD and foreign currencies.
• Post journal entries to the general ledger for bank transfers and other transactions.
• Manage petty cash requests and assist with audits as needed.

SUMMARY:

Seeking a Treasury Accounting Specialist to assist with various cash, disbursement, and cash accounting activities, including month-end close and financial reporting responsibilities. The individual will assist with treasury, month-end close, and treasury-related financial reporting responsibilities—reports to the Senior Manager of Credit, Collections, and Accounts Receivable.

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of the daily cash position for each Heritage entity
• Responsible for continuous improvement and innovation in all treasury functions
• Prepares daily cash statements
• Collects authorized wire requests, prepares and initiates twice daily wire transfers (and urgent requests) in US dollars and foreign currencies
• Posts wire payments to the general ledger in a timely and efficient manner
• Posts journal entries to record bank transfers and other bank transactions
• Receives petty cash requests, distributes petty cash, and reports on transactions and balances of petty cash
• Assists manager as needed with audit requests
• Additional duties as assigned from time to time by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance preferred; Associates's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
• 5 or more years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable with a High School diploma will be considered.
• Experience working in an accounting department for a company with more than 500 employees and multiple business units is strongly preferred.
• Experience in Intercompany booking preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Good to excellent Excel skills are needed.
• Experience with Microsoft GP is highly preferred
• Must be able to multi-task and adjust to new situations quickly
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be highly detail-oriented and have a positive attitude.
