Job summary

Heritage Auctions, a leading auction house headquartered in Dallas, Texas, seeks an entry-level Auction Operations Assistant. You will handle pre- and post-auction tasks, including data entry, imaging, labeling, and heavy lifting while supporting efficient presentation of consigned items.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pre-auction tasks: enter item data, image items, label and prepare for auction, heavy lifting as needed.
• Post-auction tasks: prepare and ship orders per procedures, handle remaining items until payments are received.
• Report discrepancies to supervisors and assist with other duties as assigned.

Are you a detail-oriented and highly organized Auction Operations Assistant? Heritage Auctions is the largest auction house founded in the U.S. and serves more than 50 different auction categories, including Coins, Sports, Comics, Historical, Jewelry, Fine & Decorative Art, Wine, and many more.

SUMMARY:

This is an entry-level position that is responsible for the presentation of consignment items, which includes sorting, imaging, cleaning, labeling, data entry, and some heavy lifting.

LOCATION:

South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane

COMPENSATION:

Compensated based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pre-auction tasks
  • Enter item information into the computer system accurately
  • Ensure all items are imaged promptly
  • Prepare (sort, clean, and label) items for auction
  • Must be comfortable with day-to-day heavy lifting
• Post-auction tasks
  • Prepare orders for shipping in compliance with established procedures
  • Ship orders immediately after auctions.
  • Process and forward items remaining onsite until payments are received
• Inform supervisors of any discrepancies or issues
• Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma required
• General knowledge of paper money
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Outlook and Excel
• Ability to multitask and pay great attention to detail
• Individuals must be comfortable lifting to 50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Individuals must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment; hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; able to work overtime as needed during peak seasons. This is a non-traveling position; all work will occur at Heritage Auctions headquarters.
