Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment seeks an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee federal construction projects across the East Coast and other U.S. locations. You will lead field operations, coordinate subcontractors and ensure safety, quality and schedules across multiple sites.

The role requires strong federal government project experience, ability to travel extensively, and compliance with EM 385 and OSHA standards. Expect relocation between projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have federal construction experience.
• Superintendent background in commercial or government projects preferred.
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management abilities required.
• Willingness to travel extensively across multiple states.
• OSHA certified and trained.
• EM 385 certification is preferred.
• CQM certification is a plus.
• First Aid/CPR certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day field operations on federal construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and project teams on site.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure work progresses safely and efficiently.
• Monitor quality, production and compliance throughout construction.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, subcontractors and government representatives.
• Ensure all work complies with contract docs, specifications and federal requirements.
• Maintain site safety and quality standards.
• Manage inspections, documentation and project closeout activities.
• Travel and relocate between projects as required.

Location: Traveling

A growing General Contractor is seeking experienced Traveling Superintendents to oversee federal and government construction projects across the East Coast and other U.S. locations.

This is a highly mobile position, with the successful candidate responsible for managing construction activities on-site and travelling to whichever project they are assigned to. Current and upcoming projects are located across the East Coast, with additional work in Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky and Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day field operations on federal construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and project teams on site.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure work progresses safely and efficiently.
• Monitor quality, production and compliance throughout construction.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, subcontractors and government representatives.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents, specifications and federal requirements.
• Maintain site safety and quality standards.
• Manage inspections, documentation and project closeout activities.
• Travel and relocate between projects as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Superintendent within commercial or federal construction.
• Strong federal/government construction experience is required.
• Experience working on military or government facilities is highly desirable.
• Ability to work on restricted-access government and military sites.
• Strong understanding of federal construction regulations and requirements.
• OSHA certification.
• First Aid/CPR.
• EM 385 certification.
• CQM certification.
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
