Job summary

RKE Contractors is seeking a traveling Construction Superintendent to work on Heavy Civil Federal projects. This full-time, in-person role requires strong leadership, safety compliance, and experience with DoD/USACE/NAVFAC projects.

Candidates should be able to interpret critical path schedules and construction drawings, manage budgets, and coordinate resources across sites. Proficiency with Procore, P6, RMS, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience managing construction
• Minimum 5 years experience as a superintendent on heavy civil projects
• Ability to interpret a Critical Path Schedule and construction drawings
• Familiar with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements
• Hazard identification and safety compliance experience
• DoD/USACE/NAVFAC experience preferred
• Proficient with project management software and tools (Microsoft Office, PROCORE, P6, RMS)

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Manage and oversee the project; develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project management team
• Team Supervision and Leadership: Direct construction crews and subcontractors, ensure safety and quality standards
• Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure activities comply with federal regulations, building codes, and safety protocols
• Quality Assurance and Documentation: Conduct inspections, maintain records, and report progress

Construction Superintendent

RKE Contractors is looking to hire a traveling Construction Superintendent to work on Heavy Civil Federal projects.

Job Type: Full Time, In-Person

Pay: Pay is Based on Experience

Job Tasks:

The Superintendent’s job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Project Management:
  
  
  
  • Manage and oversee the project
  
  
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project management team
  
  
  • Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met by effectively coordinating resources, materials, and equipment
  
  
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures, as needed
  
  
  
  


• Team Supervision and Leadership:
  
  
  
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to construction crews and subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project plans, safety guidelines, and quality standards
  
  
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and professional development
  
  
  • Resolve conflicts or issues that may arise among team members, subcontractors, or stakeholders
  
  
  
  


• Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
  
  
  
  • Ensure all construction activities are carried out in compliance with federal regulations, building codes, and safety standards
  
  
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  
  
  
  


• Quality Assurance and Documentation
  
  
  
  • Ensure that all construction activities meet quality standards and comply with project specifications
  
  
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to identify and rectify any deficiencies or deviations from project plans
  
  
  • Document project activities, progress, and issues, maintaining accurate records and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  
  
  
  

Superintendent Requirements:

• 10 Years of experience managing construction
  
  
  
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a superintendent on heavy civil projects.
  
  
  
  


• Must be capable of interpreting a Critical Path Schedule and construction drawings.


• Must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA


• Must have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance


• Experience with DoD/USACE/NAVFAC is preferred


• Proficient in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Office, PROCORE, P6, and RMS.

Superintendent Training Requirements (Must Provide Proof of Completion):

• OSHA 30


• First Aid and CPR Certification
