Job description

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee construction activities across multiple project locations. This role is responsible for ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards. The successful candidate will coordinate field operations, supervise subcontractors and craft personnel, and serve as a key point of contact between project teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, scopes of work, schedules, and site logistics; coordinating daily construction activities; monitoring progress and productivity; and identifying and resolving field issues before they affect project delivery. You will lead site meetings, maintain accurate project records, verify materials and workmanship, and support inspections, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities. The Superintendent will also enforce site safety requirements, conduct regular safety observations, promote a professional jobsite culture, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Regular travel and extended periods at active project sites are required.

Applicants should have several years of experience supervising commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or similarly complex construction projects, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple trades and changing site conditions. Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, safety practices, quality control, and contract documents is essential. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and practical problem-solver who can make sound decisions under pressure, maintain positive working relationships, and provide clear direction to field teams. Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and standard office applications is preferred. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel extensively are required. Relevant trade qualifications, technical training, or construction management certification will be considered an advantage.
