Job summary

U.S. Traffic Control West is seeking traffic control flaggers to safely direct vehicles around construction sites and protect workers.

Responsibilities include setting up and removing work zones, using hand signals, and coordinating with colleagues to maintain safe traffic flow. Must pass drug screen, have a valid license (3+ years), be 21+, and willing to travel with housing provided when away from base. Overtime is common.

Qualifications

• Pass drug screen.
• Valid driver\'s license with a clean record for at least 3 years.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of state traffic regulations.
• Willing to travel; housing provided when traveling.
• Willing to work overtime; extended shifts common on weekends.
• Provide own steel-toe or composite work shoes.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones with signs, cones, stop/slow paddles, and rumble strips.
• Communicate with other flaggers using radios to direct traffic onto a single lane.
• Use hand signals and signs to direct traffic around road construction sites.
• Inform tree crews of traffic issues affecting safety.
• Read and comprehend the company safety manual and employee handbook.
• Communicate to ensure automobiles/pedestrians do not interfere with workers.
• Position warning and detour signs around project locations.
• Maintain regular, reliable on-site attendance.
