Job summary

US Traffic Control, LLC is seeking a Flagging professional to safely direct vehicle flow around construction sites in Conyers, GA. The role requires maintaining traffic zones, using radios to coordinate with other flaggers, and ensuring safety for workers and motorists.

The candidate must pass a drug screen, background check, and Fit-For-Duty exam, hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, be 21+, and be willing to travel.

Qualifications

• ATSSA certification is preferred.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• Must pass Fit-For-Duty physical exam.
• Valid driver's license with driving record.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Willing to travel; paid housing & per diem on special cases.
• Able to work 8 or 10 hour shifts, weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones with signs, cones, paddles, and rumble strips.
• Direct traffic and pedestrians through and around the work area.
• Comply with US Traffic Control safety manual and employee handbook.
• Communicate to ensure automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with workers.
• Coordinate with other flaggers via radios to manage traffic flow.
• Decide when to allow cars onto a single lane based on traffic.
• Inform crew of traffic issues affecting safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

A Flagger is responsible for safely directing the flow of vehicles around construction sites while helping construction workers and motorists avoid any danger associated with the construction site.

Responsibilities

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, stop slow paddles, and rumble strips.
• Guide traffic & pedestrians safely through and around the work area.
• Read and comprehend US Traffic Control’s safety manual and employee handbook to comply with policies.
• Communicate to ensure that automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with or pose a danger to laborers and their projects.
• Communicate with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane.
• Make decisions on whether to allow cars onto a single lane based on observed traffic flow.
• Inform the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

You MUST -

• Pass a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
• Pass a Fit-For-Duty physical exam.
• Have a valid driver's license and provide a driving record.
• Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Be willing to travel. Paid housing & per diem on special cases.
• Be willing to work 8 or 10 hour shifts, weekends if necessary.
• Have reliable communication to receive work schedule.
• Provide your own steel-toe or composite work shoes to be worn during your work shift.

Experience

• A professional certification in the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Physical strength and stamina.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain.
• Be able to stand throughout your entire shift, hand and arm movement is required.
• Manual dexterity to operate two-way radios and enter information into tablet PC.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
