Job summary

Independence Excavating seeks a Traveling Site Safety Specialist to join our field safety team. This role travels 100% of the time, conducting inspections, drills, and training for field crews while creating site-specific health and safety plans.

You will maintain safety records, coordinate with demolition and environmental teams, and ensure OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and project requirements are met. Strong OSHA 30, 4+ years in construction safety, and solid communication are required.

Qualifications

• Requires OSHA 30 certification and 4+ years in construction safety or related leadership roles.
• High school diploma with safety coursework; AS/BS in safety preferred or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ICC regulations and MSHA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site safety inspections, drills, and trainings at job sites.
• Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific health and safety plans.
• Maintain and audit safety paperwork required by project owners and subcontractors.
• Prepare post-incident reports and coordinate corrective actions.
• Coordinate industrial hygiene compliance on job sites and ensure regulatory compliance.
