Job summary

Kiewit is seeking Sr. Surveyors and Crew Chiefs to lead field survey operations on large heavy civil infrastructure projects across the US. Per diem is provided and trips home are paid; projects range from highways to bridges and utilities.

You will oversee surveying plans, data collection, and QA/QC while coordinating with engineers and construction teams. Ideal candidates have 7+ years of field experience, strong Trimble/AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and 7+ years field survey experience.
• Proficiency with Trimble Access/Business Center required.
• Experience with GPS, total stations, LiDAR and data collection tools.
• Must apply algebra/geometry concepts for calculations.
• Willing to travel regionally; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveying operations for heavy civil projects with accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and implement survey plans and schedules with project teams.
• Lead a survey crew if qualified; mentor field personnel.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers and construction teams to align design and field work.
• Utilize Trimble, GPS, LiDAR, drones and other tech to capture data.
• Maintain detailed survey logs, reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Provide quality control checks and troubleshoot on site.
• Use CAD tools (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation) for elevations and calculations.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure scope and deliverables.
