Job summary

HNM Systems is seeking an RF Integration Technician to commission and optimize DAS networks, interfacing with wireless provider RF teams and project stakeholders. You will document procedures, measurements, and final configurations, ensuring ATF procedures are approved and filed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in EE or equivalent, 5+ years as an RF engineer, and hands-on experience with GSM/TDMA/iDEN networks, DAS BTS hardware, and RF test equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as an RF engineer with a wireless service provider or consulting firm.
• Experience designing and optimizing GSM, TDMA and/or iDEN networks.
• Proficiency with DAS and BTS hardware.
• Knowledge of CDMA, EVDO, LTE, GSM, UMTS, HSDPA, iDEN.
• Experience with multiple equipment platforms: Andrew, ADC, PWAV, Mobile Access, TEKO.
• Understanding RF link-budget requirements.
• Ability to coordinate CW drive testing and integrate results into predictive modelling tools.
• Ability to perform capacity modelling for RF protocols.
• Ability to post-process drive-test data and develop optimization recommendations.
• Understanding capacity and coverage limitations from RF, switch, and RF hardware perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment engineering for DAS design sizing, equipment specifications, and network parameters.
• Provide oversight for assigned DAS projects with technical guidance.
• Support both in-building and outdoor DAS network projects.
• Use RF test equipment (transmitters, receivers, spectrum analyzers, optical meters) for DAS commissioning.
• Provide technical expertise to help field maintenance reconfigure DAS components to operation.
• Interpret and summarize DAS performance metrics and antenna specs.
• Document optimization and commissioning procedures and final network configurations.
• Coordinate completion and filing of Acceptance Test Plan procedures with RF stakeholders.
• All other duties as assigned.
