Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of face-to-face customer service or retail sales experience with a track record of meeting goals.
• Able to learn Trustmark consumer and/or mortgage lending guidelines and process loans within 2 years.
• Must register with the NMLS.
• Able to perform routine transactions and balance a cash drawer.
• Strong customer service and product knowledge of Trustmark offerings.
• Pass appropriate assessment tests related to customer service and math skills.
• Able to meet sales goals in a retail environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal technology systems.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Time management and attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and demeanor for daily public interaction.
• Prior supervisory experience or mortgage loan processing experience preferred.
• 2 years of banking industry knowledge related to Relationship Banker role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify customer needs and make referrals through proactive sales and service.
• Service, sell, and cross-sell deposit accounts, loans, insurance, and related services.
• Safeguard assets and process transactions accurately (deposits, withdrawals, wires, checks).
• Maintain and balance a cash drawer with abundant cash handling.
• Open, close, and maintain accounts.
• Meet sales and referral goals quarterly while delivering excellent customer service.
• Make outreach calls to customers and prospects.
• Greet the public professionally to reinforce Trustmark standards.
• Follow bank policies and guidelines; training other associates as needed.
• Possibly supervise/train other bankers and tellers; assist with scheduling and performance reviews.
• Oversee and review transactions (night drops, ATM deposits, money orders, etc.).
• Assist with cash shipments and vault management as needed.
• Possibly assist with loan origination responsibilities.
