Our dynamic growing company needs a capable, motivated Project Superintendent. The Traveling Project Superintendent manages and oversees the day–to–day operations at the construction site of Solar Projects. The Traveling Project Superintendent’s primary purpose is to ensure that all construction projects are being built to DCE’s specifications. The Project Superintendent will coordinate with all subcontractors, labor, and site logistics to ensure construction will be on schedule.
The Traveling Project Superintendent is responsible for prompt and accurate communication to the Project Managers and Customers about the status of a project. The Traveling Project Superintendent is responsible for monitoring the entire site daily to ensure DCE’s safety standards and quality of workmanship are upheld.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and communicate with leadership on any change in method, labor, materials, and/or sub-surface conditions that become evident on all projects.
- Manage field projects for Mechanical and/or Electrical scope of work.
- Supervise subcontractors and labor crews to ensure the project conforms to the plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate material and equipment logistics with Procurement.
- Communicates as required to ensure subcontractor and vendor work is being done in accordance with the contract.
- Work with the subcontractor/construction team to maintain schedule and budget.
- Interacts with Engineering and Estimating with feedback on estimates, cost, best practices, etc.
- Focus on safety, quality, production, and client satisfaction.
- Conduct daily safety talks and job hazard analysis.
- Manage all changes in project scope to ensure that subcontractors are aware of these changes. Report all scope changes to the Customer and Project Coordinators.
- Maintain daily paperwork including daily logs, schedule updates, email correspondence, and site photos.
- Review & evaluate the sub-contractor’s daily log information and determine project progress and efficiency.
- Save all project documents in the appropriate folders in the shared drives or software platforms (i.e. Procore, Dynamics CRM, etc.).
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in general construction project management, 1 year of solar experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction management, or a combination of education and appropriate experience preferred.
- Prefer an Electrical Background.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and subcontractor workforce.
- Will be required to effectively manage all essential job duties and meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to maintain onsite project documentation.
- Ability to schedule and coordinate all site work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, driven, and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to interact with people on all levels ensuring that all external and internal communication is carried out to a high standard.
- Excellent cognitive, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- A conceptual knowledge of Racking systems, Panels, Inverters, DC wiring, AC wiring, Interconnection, DAS, Battery, Gensets, Turbines, ATS, Switchgear, NEC, and Rapid Shutdown will be beneficial.
- Must be willing to travel to remote sites and stay on location for extended periods as per the specifications for a project is required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the job site for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per day).
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate uneven surfaces or rough terrain safely.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed to inspect work areas.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind).
- Ability to operate and/or be around construction equipment safely (with proper PPE).
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively in noisy environments (construction sites).
- Ability to maintain visual acuity to read plans, operate devices, and monitor site activities.
- Ability to travel between job sites as required, which may involve driving for extended periods or long flights.
