Job summary

Becker Wright Consultants seeks an experienced Solar Superintendent to steer field operations on ground-mount solar projects across the United States. You will lead the mechanical scope of construction and coordinate with civil, electrical, and project teams to drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will supervise subcontractors, review drawings and specs, conduct daily safety meetings, manage look-ahead schedules, and document progress.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of field leadership experience on ground-mount solar construction projects, including DG, community solar, and/or utility-scale solar.
  • Experience as a Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading mechanical construction activities on solar projects (5–50 MW).

Responsibilities

  • Lead all mechanical field operations from site mobilization through mechanical completion on ground-mount solar projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily activities of subcontractors, foremen, and field personnel.
  • Oversee mechanical construction activities, including structural installation, mounting systems, PV module installation, and other related mechanical work.
  • Coordinate construction activities with Civil, Electrical, and Project Management teams to maintain project schedules and productivity.
  • Develop and manage short-term look-ahead schedules while identifying and resolving field issues that could impact milestones.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and installation requirements for accuracy.
  • Perform routine quality inspections to ensure compliance with project specs and standards.
  • Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and field inspections; promote safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Monitor manpower, equipment utilization, production rates, and subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare daily progress reports documenting project status, manpower, production, weather, and safety observations.
  • Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and mechanical turnover activities.
  • Partner with Project Managers to resolve field challenges and support project delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Our client, a growing renewable energy EPC contractor, is seeking an experienced Solar Superintendent to lead field operations on ground-mount solar projects throughout the United States. Their portfolio primarily consists of distributed generation (DG) and small utility-scale projects.

The Solar Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the mechanical scope of construction, leading field personnel and subcontractors from mobilization through mechanical completion while ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, schedules, and quality standards.

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of field leadership experience on ground-mount solar construction projects, including distributed generation (DG), community solar, and/or utility-scale solar.
  • Experience serving as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, General Foreman, Mechanical Field Manager, or similar field leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading mechanical construction activities on solar projects, preferably ranging from 5-50 MW
  • Experience managing subcontractors while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.
  • Strong understanding of ground-mount solar construction means and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and installation documentation.
  • Experience coordinating field activities with civil, electrical, and commissioning teams.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, or similar construction software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.
