Job summary

Renewable Energy Systems is seeking a Superintendent - Electrical – Solar to lead electrical construction for solar projects in Wisconsin. This role will involve scheduling, supervising field personnel, and maintaining quality control throughout the project's lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has over 4 years of solar construction experience and strong electrical installation skills. Additional responsibilities include managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Summary

The Superintendent - Electrical – Solar is responsible for coordinating the site electrical construction schedule, execution plan, and managing the daily issues involved during the construction of solar generation project. This position coordinates all electrical site construction activities and supervises all electrical field personnel as required to successfully complete the solar project on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent - Electrical - Solar works diligently to build a safe, high quality, profitable solar project.

Responsibilities
  • Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in line with the client’s expectations.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
  • Manages landowner expectations, concerns, and Right of Way access.
  • Provides information about site activities including accurate install rates for electrical discipline, projected task completion and hazards to the Construction Manager.
  • Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for daily construction activities with employees.
  • Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues.
  • Maintains electrical construction schedule, identifies upcoming issues, and solves problems.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Understands the project plans and specifications.
  • Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final electrical punch list.
  • Ensures that transmission line structures – including all foundations and required access – are built as per specification.
  • Ensures site prep work is executed as per contracts, design, and specification.
  • Inputs into the execution of overall construction plan.
  • Reviews the engineer's drawings prior to beginning construction to ensure that the project can be built in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Builds and maintains relationship with local AHJ as needed.
  • Manages quality control program to ensure processes are implemented according to the design of the project and are consistent.
  • Maintains an organized job site, including in the onsite construction office.
  • Manages QA for electrical construction.
  • Manages design change notices.
  • Manages subcontractor contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Manages the electrical material on site.
  • Manages safety of electrical crews to the highest level.
  • Provides the required electrical documents, drawings, and other forms to active projects for monitoring and maintaining the EMS.
  • Ensures all completion of all required permitting activities before commencement of work.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.

  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

Compensation

Anticipated base salary range: $120,000 – $154,500.

Premium Daily Per Diem paid for food, lodging, and rotational travel.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
