Job summary

gpac is seeking a Traveling Project Manager to lead large-scale mechanical construction projects nationwide, including data centers and healthcare facilities. You will manage on-site activities, budgets, schedules, and subcontractors, coordinating with engineers, BIM/VDC teams, and clients to ensure safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years of mechanical/HVAC project experience, a degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering, and strong scheduling skills using P6/MS

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience managing mechanical/HVAC/piping projects.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong scheduling and computer skills (P6/MS Project preferred).
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Job description

We're seeking a Traveling Project Manager to take the lead on large-scale mechanical construction projects nationwide. These projects include high-tech facilities such as data centers, healthcare, industrial, and manufacturing builds - where the mechanical scope can range into the hundreds of millions.

Role Overview
  • Manage projects on-site from planning through completion
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with engineers, BIM/VDC teams, field leadership, and clients
  • Drive safety, quality, and performance across every stage
  • Anticipate and resolve challenges to keep work moving forward
Schedule & Compensation
  • 6 days per week, 10-hour shifts
  • Overtime paid at an hourly rate beyond the base schedule
  • Daily per diem while traveling
  • Travel rotation: typically home every 3-4 weeks
Qualifications
  • 1-3+ years of experience managing mechanical/HVAC/piping projects
  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related experience
  • Strong scheduling and computer skills (P6/MS Project preferred)
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
