Job summary

Cooper Tacia General Contracting is seeking a Traveling Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to support on-site projects across the Southeast. You will work under the Senior Project Manager, coordinating with site superintendents and project accountants to keep initiatives on time and within budget.

The role requires relocation to support long-term Southeast projects; travel will be frequent to job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field required.
• 1-3 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, preferably in project management or similar role.
• Knowledge of Procore and Primavera is highly recommended.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in daily operations and planning.
• Engage in negotiations for subcontractor and vendor pricing to optimize project costs.
• Manage project schedules, documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Handle RFI submissions and track submittals, maintaining clear communication across project teams.
• Assist in project planning, including creating schedules and budgets; ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
• Support the Project Manager in tracking project progress and documentation.
• Monitor and report on project costs, identifying potential issues and providing solutions.
• Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Support the Project Manager in conducting project closeout and final inspections.
