Job summary

Cooper Tacia General Contracting in the Southeast seeks a Traveling Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to support on-site projects. You will work under the Senior Project Manager and coordinate with Superintendents and project accountants to deliver on time and within budget.

Relocation to support long-term projects is required. You will manage schedules and documentation, handle RFIs and submittals, coordinate with subcontractors and clients, monitor costs, and ensure safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in project management.
• Knowledge of Procore and Primavera highly recommended.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in daily operations, ensuring effective implementation of project plans.
• Engage in negotiations for subcontractor and vendor pricing to optimize project costs.
• Manage project schedules, documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Handle RFIs and track submittals, maintaining clear communication across project teams.
• Assist in project planning, including creating schedules and budgets; ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to meet project requirements.
• Support the Project Manager in tracking progress and maintaining project documentation.
• Monitor and report on project costs, identifying issues and proposing solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and safety standards.
• Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Support closeout activities, including final inspections and documentation.
