Job summary

Focus Factory Training (D794) seeks an organized NDT Instructor for long-term travel to support strategic sourcing initiatives at Focus Factory locations. The role reports to the Chief of Training for Strategic Sourcing and to on-site Chief of Training when traveling.

The instructor will train supplier staff in NDT courses, oversee embedded instructors, conduct hands-on testing, enforce safety, assess performance, and collaborate with leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years NDT trade experience.
• MDD-01464 or MDD-00948 or MDD-00301.
• 2+ years work experience at Electric Boat.
• Instructing/teaching experience (formal or informal).
• Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS …ETC).
• Preferred: advanced coursework or degrees, NDT process qualification.

Responsibilities

• Instruct multiple NDT classroom courses.
• Provide oversight of supplier embedded instructors.
• Direct and assess hands-on training with practice and tests.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits.
• Assess student performance & identify non-conformance to policies and procedures.
• Support course content reviews and related activities.
• Conduct assessments as needed/scheduled.
• Manage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperwork.
• Meet with leadership regarding student performance.
• Grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture.
• Communicate with team to advance work and address issues.
• Support special training projects as required.
• Support Training department goals with other duties.
• Be ready to take on additional responsibilities.
