Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to travel throughout Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, and Wilton, CT, delivering home-health physical therapy under the supervision of a PT. You will educate patients, execute plans of care, and coordinate with the care team to enhance well-being.

Responsibilities include assisting with exercises, gait training, and mobility, documenting responses, and communicating changes to the supervising PT.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and perform only supervised treatments.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, and mobility.
• Observe and report patient responses to the supervising PT and coordinate care with the health care team.
• Instruct patients, family, and other care team members in therapy within PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home environments regardless of patient demographics.
