Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to travel across Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, and Wilton, CT, delivering home care services. The PTA will perform treatments, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients within the plan of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Primary responsibilities include following state laws, assisting with exercises and mobility, coordinating with the care team, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active PTA license in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and implement the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises, gait, functional activities, transfers, and mobility.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and coordinate care with the health care team.
• Educate patient, family, and other caregivers on therapy plan and safety within scope of PTA duties.
• Function effectively in diverse home environments and patient populations.
